It was in the aftermath of Cyclone Nargis that Humanitarian Development International was created to be able to respond to humanitarian crises. In this instance, whether working to assist disaster relief or in development areas, we work through trusted partners to:
... provide humanitarian aid and relief to communities in crisis and in despair caused by political turmoil, natural disasters or widespread disease;
... assist in the relief of poverty and alleviate suffering in communities ravaged by war or natural disasters, and to assist the underprivileged and those adversely affected in such communities by providing financial assistance, social welfare support, and relief in the form of basic medicines, temporary shelter, and the provision of other basic necessities;
... establish humanitarian relief and social support programmes in communities which are underprivileged, under-resourced and disadvantaged in under developed and economically disadvantaged regions of Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Oceania, with emphasis on addressing the needs of the youth and women of those communities.
