All funds received for our Humanitarian Aid & Development Projects will help victims in selected areas regardless of race, religion, age or gender. Priority will be given to helping children and women, who are the most vulnerable.

Although LeaDev-Langham's primary focus is on the needs of the Majority World, last year we established our new humanitarian trust, Humanitarian Development International (aka HumDev) to handle our responses to international humanitarian disasters and compassion ministries and very intentionally created a NZ Ministries Account. We believe, like you, that compassion begins at home, and thus we want to offer you the opportunity to help those worst affected by the earthquake in Christchurch.

We will be working with a small number of churches which are most active in the community and who are at the front lines of support and assistance to victims, offering help to people regardless of race or religion, age, gender etc.

To churches around NZ we ask that you take special offerings for this Christchurch disaster from this coming weekend and consider sending the funds through HumDev early next week.

We will be remitting funds to Christchurch on a weekly basis, or as often as we have a significant amount to send.

The destructions since 25 October caused by the tsunami West of Sumatra, and also by Mt Merapi, (near Yogyakarta, Java) have affected many islands. The tsunami triggered by 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Mentawai islands has left many people dead, missing, displaced and homeless. The people in Mentawai can be helped through our contacts in this region. We have already begun to receive a small amount of funds for relief but may we ask you for more?
