Organisational Development & Volunteers – Bridging the resource gap
Training at our Partner Schools is made possible by other activities essential for the efficient functioning of a tertiary learning centre: HR, ESOL, governance, IT, infrastructure, facilities management, and strategic planning.
Our Organisational Development Venture works alongside Partner Schools to increase capacity and enhance the quality of these areas as well as the training.
Many Kiwi learning & development professionals play a crucial part in this: Through our International Volunteering Programme they’re the ones who provide the specialist support and capacity building to Partner Schools. Between October 2014 and September 2016 volunteers gave over 500 days of professional expertise to our partners. Volunteers put friendship with the Partner School first, and aim to complement the skills of the staff. The starting points are listening, humility, grace and prayer. Volunteers are fully self-funded, so there is no financial burden on the Partner School.

We have opportunities for you to apply your skills and expertise directly to missions, and also have a personally rewarding ministry experience.
Northern Myanmar – ESOL teacherA consortium of Bible schools in Kalaymyo, N. Myanmar, trains young leaders for ministry in the Church and in their communities. To enhance the quality of this training they need a competent ESOL teacher to help the 3rd and 4th year students study more effectively in English, and to further develop the skills of the English teachers currently doing the training.
We would love to hear from you if you:
• have ESOL qualifications and experience with young adults.
• are willing to commit to 2 years’ service ideally – but a shorter term(s) can be discussed.
• have initiative and reasonable resilience to face cross-cultural challenges.
• are able to live in reasonably basic conditions and the Asian climate.
